The Vanguard V1S gen2 is our best-in-class modular pencil condenser system. It has become a favorite for a litany of award-winning and charting artists, engineers and producers around the world. Nashville engineer Kyle Manner (Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow) says "they sound great on everything I mic!"

The V1S gen2 is meant to be a true "Swiss army knife" mic in the studio or in the stage. A class-leading 4 matched pairs of capsules (2 of each pattern) come standard, as well as a pair of our heavy-duty VSSM shockmount and a handy stereo bar. The gen2 redesign is dead quiet with US-made audiophile-grade resistors and a dual-monolithic premium-grade JFET, with a mere 4 components in the signal path. Critical components are cryogenically treated, and each V1S gen2 is subjected to our rigorous quality assurance protocol. The Vanguard V1S gen2 is assembled, tested, inspected and certified, with love, in Southern California.

AudioScape's D.AM-27 Dual Mic Pre marks the modern relaunch of a classic and innovative early 70’s audio brand, Modular Audio Products. MAP was born from the ashes of an earlier electronics manufacturer, Melcor Industries, who pioneered the use of class-A discrete op amps in audio processing gear - namely, their 1731 op-amp.

The D.AM-27 is a sonically lush mic preamp based on the old Melcor AM-27 design. It’s box-tone comprises harmonic sheen and a well-defined mid-range, with detail only a class A discrete circuit design can deliver. Coupled with its transformer balanced output, the sound is punchy, but full and rich. Each channel features our proprietary, in-house manufactured, MAP 1731 class A discrete op amp, as used in the original AM-27. The contemporary 1731 op amp features the same carbon composition resistors and transistors as originally used.

The D.AM-27 is like having a NOS AM-27 built 50 years ago.

Holy Moses, what a rig! But you can’t win if you don’t enter.

Winner will be announced on 16 March, 2025.
